Battling psychology

Anyone that’s battled mental health issues knows the doctors first steps are usually referring you to a psychologist.
What they fail to tell you is how many sessions you need to battle through before actually finding them useful.
It’s not instant. It’s not like you straight away start trying to sort things out.
It’s a lot of history. It’s a lot of repeating. It’s a lot of reflecting.
Half the time you come out wondering if it even helped. The other half you wonder about everything you went over and then dwell on it which then makes them feelings fresher.
It takes a strong person to start seeing a psychologist. It takes a strong person to battle through psychology.
You of course never realise just how strong you are for doing it until much later.
But you’re strong. You just need to battle through the first few sessions until the benefits show.
